Four Professors of CSUST Listed among World’s Top 2% Most-cited Scientists

Recently, the US-based prestigious Stanford University released the latest ranking of World’s Top 2% Scientists 2020. The exhaustive list has 159,683 personswith four scholars from our university, namely Prof. Zeng Xiangjun, Prof. Yang Ronghua, Prof. Jiang Renyan and Prof. Wang Jin.

The World’s Top 2% Scientists 2020 List is published by Stanford University. This large database created by experts at Stanford University is based on data from Scopus that ranks journals in various disciplines and gives a citation index. It includes the top 2 percent of scientists of the world from 22 fields and 176 sub-fields on the basis of standardized citation indications such as the number of citations, H-Index, co-authorship and a composite indicator. Prof. Zeng Xiangjun was selected into the Electrical & Electronic Engineering discipline list; Prof. Yang Ronghua the Analytical Chemistry discipline list; Prof. Jiang Renyan the Strategic, Defence & Security Studies discipline list; Prof. Wang Jin the Networking & Telecommunications discipline list.

Professor Zeng Xiangjun, School of Electrical and Information Engineering

Prof.Zeng Xiangjun, a national talent project candidate, leader of the national college teachers' team of Huang Danian style, and a recipient of special allowances from the State Council, has long been engaged in self-healing control research on power grid fault detection, protection, location, isolation and recovery. He has presided over 1 National Outstanding Youth Fund Project, 2 National Natural Science Foundation Key Projects and 4 General Projects, and 1 Major Special Project of Science and Technology in Hunan province. Prof. Zeng has published more than 200 papers indexed by SCI/EI and cited by CNKI for more than 3,000 times. One of his papers has been cited for more than 400 times, and two papers have been listed in the List of Top100 Highly Cited Papers in Electric Power Industry. As the owner of 29 invention patents, Prof. Zeng has won the first prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, the second prize of National Technology Invention Award, and the Outstanding Young Engineer Award of China Electrical Engineering.

Professor Yang Ronghua, School of Chemistry and Food Engineering

Prof. Yang Ronghua is a national talent project candidate, mainly engaged in the research of chemical and biological sensing technology. He has presided over a number of scientific research projects such as National Natural Science Fund Project for Distinguished Young Scholars, major national scientific research projects, and major provincial scientific research projects. Prof. Yang has published more than 140 papers in academic journals at home and abroad, and has been granted 5 national invention patents. He has won the first prize of scientific and technological progress in Hunan Province, the first prize of natural science from the Ministry of Education, and the second prize of national natural science.

Professor Jiang Renyan, College of Automotive and Mechanical Engineering

Having been engaged in the research of quality, reliability and maintenance theory for more than 30 years, Prof. Jiang Renyan is an editorial board member of 3 international magazines and was selected as Elsevier 2014-2018 "China Highly Cited Scholar" (in the fields of safety, risk, reliability and quality). He has presided over 4 National Natural Science Foundation projects; participated in 1 national key research and development project. He won the second prize of Hunan Natural Science Award as an applicant. He has published more than 200 papers and works, including more than 80 international journal papers and 5 monographs. The electronic version of the English monograph Quality and Reliability Engineering Fundamentals jointly published by Chinese Science Press and Springer in 2015 has ranked among the top 25% of Springer e-book downloads for 5 consecutive years.

Professor Wang Jin, School of Computer and Communication Engineering

Prof. Wang Jin, an IET Fellow, a senior member of IEEE and a highly cited scientist in Clarivate Analytics, has been committed to the study of Internet of Things, wireless sensor networks and their applications. In recent years, he has published more than 100 SCI papers in academic journals at home and abroad (including more than 30 highly cited and hot papers, with more than 3,000 SCI citations). He has applied for or been authorized more than 30 invention patents. He also serves as reviewer for over 60 SCI journals and program committee member and branch chairperson of more than 10 international conferences. Prof. Wang has presided over 6 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and more than 20 projects of Outstanding Youth. He is Furong Scholar of Hunan Province and Minjiang Scholar of Fujian Province.
